Becoming a Member

 

Interested parents and teens are encouraged to initially attend one of the Scullers Open Houses (below) to learn about the Scullers Rowing Team program, expected commitment, related costs and to have the opportunity to try rowing.

 

Based on interest, teens are then encouraged to attend one of the team tryout sessions, held every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at both Benderson Park and Blackburn Point Park starting Aug. 15, 2009. Any interested rower between the ages of 13 and 17 years of age is invited to try out.

Costs:

 

Annual team membership costs $1,650/year per member. Each member is responsible for his/her contribution to pro-rated Regatta expenses that include transportation, lodging, team meals and entry fees.

 

A tiered scholarship program based on financial need is currently being developed to support interested teens in becoming a member. If interested in applying for one of the scholarships, please click here to be notified when the application process is open.
