Rowing is about creating magic both on and off the water. Our program offers an affordable, inclusive experience tailored to each athlete’s needs and aspirations. We work closely with every individual to support their goals, whether pursuing athletic excellence or preparing for academic success.
Many of our high school rowers advance to college while continuing their rowing journey. Sculler Alumni have joined elite teams, competed at NCAA-level colleges, or returned to Scullers as coaches, sharing their passion for the sport they grew to love here.

High School Rowing
Who
- Any high school student in 9th – 12th grade
- 8th graders can row with our middle school program or high school program
- All experience levels welcome!
When
During the school year
- Monday to Friday: 4:00 – 6:30pm (with daylight savings times will shift slightly)
- Saturday: 7:00 – 9:30am (with daylight saving times will shift slightly)
The team receives their detailed schedule for the following week always on Sunday before the week starts. No training at public holidays.
Where
- Water practices launch from Blackburn Point. We aim to hold mostly water practices, weather permitting.
- Land-based practices are at the DSC training center
Costs
- Winter/Spring (January – May): $1,500
- Summer (June – July): $600
- Fall (August – December): $1,500
- $200 one-time new rower registration fee
- Additional fees for uniform, rowing shoes, seat pad and regatta fees apply.
Training sessions are Monday – Friday after school and Saturday morning.

We welcome any level of athlete to start competitive high school rowing!
No experience is necessary
We welcome all high school rowers, regardless of experience. Scullers learn the tools needed to become successful in rowing and in life. Our coaches will push you to exceed your own expectations, while keeping your safety as a top priority. Fast, friendly, and fun is the name of the game here at Scullers.
Our high school team travels and competes in Sarasota, nearby areas and travels to a couple of larger out-of-state regattas such as Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the US Rowing National Championships, Head of the Charles, and others. Our coaching staff determines the regatta schedule each season but expect 3-5 races in the fall and 3-6 races in the spring.
Each year, our rowers are recruited to and attend top colleges. Some continue rowing, others take lessons with them. Our graduates have attended Drexel, Georgetown, Harvard, La Salle University, University of Louisville, University of Florida, University of South Florida, Bucknell, and Stanford, just to name a few.
Our rowers are here because they are passionate about the sport and their team. We welcome you to join us today!
PLEASE NOTE: If a student-athlete from another FSRA program would like to join the Sarasota Scullers, they are more than welcome. Transfers must comply with current FSRA rules.
