2025-2026 Team

Bridge Athletes

Bridge Athletes are young rowers who have completed high school and are intentionally taking a gap year before entering college. This time is not a pause—it’s a purposeful bridge. Whether they are deepening their athletic training, exploring personal growth, or preparing academically, these athletes are choosing to invest in themselves.

Although unaffiliated with a school, Bridge Athletes remain essential members of our rowing community—active participants in the Scullers program. They train with discipline, mentor younger teammates, and exemplify resilience and self-leadership. Their presence strengthens our culture of belonging and reminds us that growth doesn’t always follow a straight line. Transformation often happens in the spaces between.

Supporting Bridge Athletes means supporting young people who are charting their own course with courage, determination, and heart. The Scullers proudly welcome Bridge Athletes from across the United States and around the world.

High School Athletes

At Sarasota Scullers, our high school athletes are more than competitors—they are learners, leaders, and teammates. We believe that teaching comes before trophies, and that the true value of rowing lies in the journey of personal growth.

Our athletes commit to:

  • Developing technical skill through disciplined training,
  • Building mental resilience and character on and off the water,
  • Fostering teamwork and sportsmanship in every stroke.

While many of our rowers aspire to earn college scholarships and compete at the next level, we provide the physical foundation and structured environment necessary to pursue those goals. Through expert coaching and a culture of excellence, Sarasota Scullers empowers student-athletes to thrive—not just in races, but in life.

Success is measured not by medals, but by the strength of the athlete’s journey.

Middle School Rowers

At Sarasota Scullers, our middle school rowers are introduced to the sport in a way that emphasizes fun, fundamentals, and friendship.
We believe that confidence comes before competition, and that rowing is a powerful tool for building character and community.

Our young athletes focus on:

  • Learning the basics of rowing technique and boat safety,
  • Developing healthy habits through regular physical activity,
  • Building friendships and teamwork in a supportive environment.

While middle schoolers may not yet be racing for medals, they are laying the foundation for future success—in rowing and beyond.
Through age-appropriate coaching and a focus on personal growth, Sarasota Scullers helps each rower discover their potential and enjoy the journey.

Success is measured not by speed, but by the joy of learning and growing together.

Sarasota Scullers is the oldest organized youth rowing club in Sarasota. Since 1991, the Sarasota Scullers have led the way in competitive team rowing and developing teens’ athletic and competitive skills, including achieving a #1 ranking in Florida at the 2010 State Championships. Our disciplined rowers go on to do great things.

“My time with Scullers has made me a better leader, a better person and made me realize that anything is possible with an amazing coaching staff and a strong team behind you.”
